Witness the moving and enlightening performance of the living tableau drama The Last Supper at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, at the Valley View Village, 2571 Guthrie Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.
The performance, based on Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting, will involve the disciples talking about their roles after they have been told that one of them will betray Jesus Christ. Each disciple will conclude his talk by asking “Is it I?”
The performance is presented by the West Des Moines United Methodist Church.
Fifteen actors are involved in this year’s performance. Other performances this season have taken place in West Des Moines and Urbandale. This is the 44th season for the Last Supper Drama; highlights of previous seasons include performances at Hilton Coliseum in Ames and in Nashville, Tennessee.
To get to the Valley View Village, take Interstate-235 to the Guthrie Avenue exit and head east. Go beyond Tomlin Lane. The driveway to Valley View Village is on the south side of Guthrie, just before the intersection with Hubbell Avenue.
